Public transport information is correct as of June 2024. This area is served by two Tyne & Wear Metro lines ( Green & Yellow). Hebburn and Jarrow Stations are on the Yellow line. Stations within 15 minutes of a pub are indicated.

1- Cock Crown Inn

This Marston’s pub can be found near the western edge of Monkton Lane Estate. Up to four real ales are usually available. No Real Ale reported March 25 Tel:- 0191 4285730. Buses to Newcastle, Jarrow and South Shields stop five minutes away.

3– Longship
Ushaw Road, Hebburn, NE31 2YA Longship, Hebburn – CAMRA Experience
Located on the main road between Hebburn and Jarrow, this Greene King pub offers up to two handpulled beers. There is also accommodation. Tel :- 0191 4837091. Bus to Newcastle, Jarrow and South Shields stop is about 5 minutes walk. Equidistant between Hebburn and Jarrow Metro Stations ( app 15 mins)

4. Wardles Bar
22 Albert Street, Hebburn, NE31 1EL Wardles Bar, Hebburn – CAMRA Experience
Also known as The Albert, this pub does not sell real ale but is included here as it is Grade II listed and was first listed by Historic England in 1985. Located halfway between the River Tyne and Hebburn Metro ( 10 minutes), Tel 0191 4836536. Bus to Jarrow and South Shields is 2 minutes.

5. Ben Lomond

This town centre pub is in prominent position. Up to two Greene King real ales. A former Wetherspoons. it is on the South Tyneside Local List Tel :- 0191 4833839. Jarrow Bus and Metro Station 5 minutes away.

6. Gin & Ale House
76 Walter Street, Jarrow, NE32 3PQ Gin & Ale House, Jarrow – CAMRA Experience
Note The Gin & Ale House is currently closed, suffering a major fire in October 2023. This is a former Good Beer Guide Pub. Jarrow Bus and Metro Station about 7 minutes walk.

7. Lord Nelson
